Live Events and Brand Activations
How Emotive 3D delivers high-end CGI and event screen content against immovable live event deadlines. Case studies from Geely, Clarios, Digitain and Glow.
Five days!
That’s how long we had from receiving the brief to delivering finished content for Arm’s section of the Geely UK car launch. One main film for the big screen, two supporting animations for the side screens, a one minute cutdown, and social-ready versions in multiple aspect ratios. All for a live stage presentation to an audience of industry decision makers. All with an immovable event date sitting at the end of the week.
We delivered everything on time. The visuals ran live, the audience was engaged, and the content went on to feature in multiple press articles covering the launch.
We tell that story not to boast, but because it illustrates something we’ve learned from years of working in live events and brand activations. The deadline is never the problem. The problem is finding a specialist who can deliver to the standard you need within it.

The Reality of Live Event Production
Anyone who has worked on a live event knows the pattern. The brief arrives late. The client feedback takes longer than expected. The screen specs for the stand turn up the week before the event. Someone in leadership asks for a social cutdown three days before it goes live. And through all of it, the event date stays exactly where it was.
This is the environment we work in every day. Not occasionally, not when it suits us, but as the standard operating condition for everything we do.
For brands and agencies commissioning content for live environments, the stakes are immediate and visible. There is no quiet failure. If the content isn’t ready, isn’t the right format, or isn’t good enough to sit on a main stage screen in front of thousands of people, everyone in that room knows it.

Four ways we Deliver for Live Events
Over the past few years we’ve worked on event content across four distinct areas, each with its own challenges and its own version of the immovable deadline.
Clarios
For Clarios at IAA and CES, two of the most high-profile trade events in the automotive and technology calendar, we delivered a full suite of event screen content including a hero brand film and four connected services films across multiple formats. Late screen specs, delayed approvals and last-minute social requests all landed during production. We absorbed every one of them without missing the event dates.
Digitain
For Digitain at ICE, Europe’s biggest gaming expo, we created forced perspective big screen content designed to stop people in their tracks at the entrance to their stand. Horses racing out of the screen, footballs bursting through the display, greyhounds hurtling towards the crowd. Attendees filmed it on their phones. It spread on social media. Digitain reported increased footfall to their stand as a direct result.
Glow

For Glow in Holland, we built something we’d never seen done before at a live event. A fully rigged 3D robot character controlled in real time by an actor in a motion capture suit at an offsite studio, connected to the live event through a two-way camera system. The robot watched the crowd, reacted to individuals and responded to movement, creating a genuinely interactive audience experience that surprised and delighted everyone who encountered it.

Arm & Geely
And for Arm and Geely, we delivered five days of focused, senior-led production that put polished, press-worthy visuals on stage at a major car launch without a single frame out of place.
What this Means for Your Next Event
If you’re planning event content, the question to ask any specialist isn’t whether they can do the work. Most can. The question is whether they can do it when the brief arrives late, the specs change, the approvals take longer than expected, and the event date doesn’t move a single day.
That’s the real brief. And it’s the one we’ve built our entire approach around.
We work with brands, agencies and production companies across live events, trade fairs, brand activations, and experiential environments. We’re flexible on how we collaborate, white-label, credited or somewhere in between, and we’re at our best when we’re brought in early enough to shape the approach as well as execute it.
